Diablo Valley College is seeking passionate adjunct faculty members to teach classes in Art - Digital Media in one or more of the following areas: Game Design, Animation, Motion Graphics, Graphic Design, User Experience Design, User Interface Design

Duties and Responsibilities:
Adjunct Faculty duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules;
2. creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking;
3. evaluating progress of students concerning educational matters and grades student work;
4. meeting with students outside of class;
5. maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics;
6. maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas;
7. fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member;
8. maintaining accurate academic records;
9. performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification-Education/Experience:
Understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, staff and faculty.
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of two years of professional industry experience in a Digital Media area such as Graphic Design, UX/UI Design, Game Design.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Professional experience in Digital Media, such as Game Design, Graphic Design, UX UI.
- Prior teaching experience or instructional experience in a related field.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, etc.
- Knowledge of current trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the fields of Game design, Graphic Desig, UX UI.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and collaborate with colleagues.
- Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom and within the educational community.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a diverse student population and evolving industry demands.
